Historical Journey Itinerary
Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Jvari - Gori - Uplistsikhe - Tbilisi
Depart from Tbilisi at 8:30 AM and travel to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most sacred places in Georgia. Continue to Jvari Monastery, perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers.
Next, we'll drive to Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Visit the Stalin Museum complex, which includes his birth house, personal railway carriage, and museum exhibitions.
After lunch (not included) at a local restaurant, we'll explore the highlight of the tour - the ancient rock-hewn town of Uplistsikhe. Dating back to the 1st millennium BC, this cave city features ancient theaters, temples, and streets carved directly into volcanic rock.
Return to Tbilisi around 7:00 PM, enriched with knowledge of Georgia's fascinating history.
